    Biography

    What I Do
I believe in the importance of encouraging people to take charge of their health and providing skills and care that focus on self-management, so that they can live happier and healthier lives.

My clinical interests include neuroscience, diabetes and education.

    Why I Love My Work
Since I was a child, I had always wanted to become a teacher, but I was also fascinated by science and health. Becoming a nurse and then specializing in education gave me the perfect opportunity to incorporate everything I enjoy into one career. I love seeing people take charge of their health! Then, getting to watch them as they feel better both physically and mentally is really something special.

    Getting to Know Me
I spent the first 30 years of my life living in Big Lake, Minnesota. Though I’ve moved to an even smaller rural town since then, I enjoy getting to work in Monticello and Big Lake because it feels like coming home. It still has that small town feel to me because I really get to know and connect with my patients.

Outside of work, I enjoy swimming, running, gardening, musicals and going on adventures with my family. I love celebrating the holidays, but I especially love dressing up with my 3 daughters and playing games with them.

Additionally, I have been recognized with the “Our Best Begins with Me” award and “The Big Smile” award in 2017.
