    What I Do
As a registered dietitian, I am fascinated with how food impacts our biological process. The food we consume can affect performance, boost the immune system, help manage weight, increase energy levels and reduce the risk of developing chronic disease. Obesity Medicine is complex, and care is not a one-size-fits-all strategy. Like any other disease, obesity should not define the individual. Unfortunately, this mentality is often challenged by social media, weight bias and discrimination. I went in to Weight Management for this reason. I wanted to be an advocate for my patients, work with them to establish a healthy relationship with food and be a disseminator of evidence-based care to patients and health care providers. My special interests include weight management, bariatric surgery and health coaching.

    Why I Love My Work
I love developing a relationship with my patients. Each patient has his or her own story and history that has led them to the clinic. I love hearing and learning about who they are, their goals and their challenges. I believe that a relationship built on trust and understanding is the core to patient care. I am passionate about helping people change their relationship with food. Since food affects all aspects of life, it is crucial to have a positive relationship with it.

    Getting to Know Me
I grew up in a military family, moving to a new state every three years. I was lucky to meet a wide range of culturally diverse people, which helped me develop a broader acceptance of those who looked, acted, and believed differently than I did. Meeting individuals with diverse backgrounds has helped me in my career. Today, I celebrate the differences with my patients and work to incorporate their attitudes, beliefs and culture in to my counseling. Some of my personal interests and hobbies are traveling, hiking, skiing, kayaking and reading.

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

CentraCare care givers have been working around the clock for more than 20 months to care for you, your families and friends during COVID. We are committed to caring for every Minnesotan who needs us, and nothing will prevent us from doing so – even during these never-seen-before times.

The challenge of providing this level of care is that our hospital beds are often full. ERs in all of our hospitals are packed. And our clinical teams are exhausted. Early in the pandemic, our community stepped up in amazing ways to help us. We ask that you again join us in fighting this pandemic together.

How can you help?

  • Please get your COVID vaccines and booster shots. They are proven safe and effective in reducing COVID illness, keeping people out of the hospital, and preventing death.
  • If your situation is not an emergency, please use other care options, including:
  • If this is a medical emergency, call 9-1-1, or visit the ER.

Together, we can do this. Thank you for your support.
