What I Do

I believe that exceptional patient care begins with truly listening. I make the effort to understand the concerns, questions and goals of all my patients so that we can work together to find the best path forward. My approach centers on clear communication and shared decision-making. I want patients to feel informed, supported and empowered. Through straightforward and honest dialogue, I hope to create a collaborative environment where patients feel respected, heard and comfortable with their plan of care.

Why I Love My Work

I enjoy the relationships I build with patients and colleagues. Although my background is in broad spectrum family medicine, I have found myself drawn to and enjoying hospital medicine and the care of acutely ill patients. I enjoy the dynamic, evolving nature of managing complex medical conditions.

Getting to Know Me

A major factor for me going into health care was wanting to be challenged daily with variety and continual learning. I also love to teach — educating patients is a major part of what I do. There certainly is never a “boring” day!

I am an avid Minnesota sports fan, loving the Twins, Wild and Vikings, even knowing they will break my heart. I also love the cabin, swimming, fishing, campfires, watersports, UTVs, snowmobiling, etc. I also play board games and video games when I have down time.
