Midwifery

What I Do

As a certified nurse midwife at the Birth Center at CentraCare - St. Cloud Hospital, I believe that building a connection with a patient is critical to providing appropriate care. I strive to respect and adhere to a woman’s preferences for childbirth while keeping a focus on safety. I aim to minimize labor interventions while recognizing that there are times when interventions may be lifesaving for mother and/or baby.

My clinical interests include midwifery-centered care throughout labor, during birth and after delivery. As an international board-certified lactation consultant, I also have an interest in breastfeeding following delivery.

Why I Love My Work

I love making connections with my patients and “catching” babies! Being a nurse-midwife has always felt like a perfect fit for me.

Getting to Know Me

Outside of work, I enjoy being outdoors, gardening, hiking with my dogs, cooking/food preservation, sewing/knitting/crocheting and doing other types of crafts.

At one time I was going to major in forestry but realized that I preferred working with women much more than in a forest!
