What I Do
My first job in health care was as a nurse’s aide in a nursing home. I was hooked right away. I could not afford to go directly into an RN program, so first I became a licensed practical nurse. Then, I took steps to advance my career to get me where I am today: associate degree registered nurse, bachelor’s degree registered nurse and a nurse practitioner degree. At each level, I had the support of my family and employers.
Currently, I specialize in cardiology with clinical interests in left atrial appendage occlusion, atrial fibrillation, patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defects.
Why I Love My Work
I enjoy working in cardiology because, as a specialty, it is challenging and embraces excellence.
Getting to Know Me
I enjoy living in Minnesota because we get to live every day in a place that others only get to enjoy while being on vacation. Outside of work, I like to travel with my husband, family and friends. We enjoy activities during every season, including golf, boating, trail running, motorcycle trips, snowshoeing and curling.
