What I Do
Therapy is a space for support and discovery. It is a place where we can explore how you adapted to your life experiences, especially those that were once outside of your control. The patterns people often come to therapy struggling with are frequently the very patterns that once helped them survive and navigate overwhelming circumstances, including within their family of origin.
Through Internal Family Systems (IFS), relational and somatic work, we gently create safety in your system, honor the person you had to become to get through hardship, and begin the process of releasing and unburdening old roles and beliefs — such as “something is wrong with me” or “I’m a burden.”
I have experience working with individuals navigating post-traumatic stress, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and relationship challenges. I have also worked with many clients living with complex medical conditions, including mild traumatic brain injury, as well as those experiencing dissociation or parts systems that meet criteria for dissociative identity disorder.
My role is to offer support and serve as a guide as you connect with your own internal wisdom.
Getting to Know Me
Outside of therapy, I enjoy thrift stores and yard sales, spending time in nature and being with my dog. I value time with loved ones and finding new adventures in life. I also bring lived experience of recovery from CPTSD related to childhood emotional neglect and abuse, as well as PTSD from medical trauma, to my work — experience that gave me deep respect for the healing process.
