What I Do
As a cardiologist, I believe it is important for my patients to understand their disease process. I will always take the time to explain things in a way they can understand. I also believe patients have spiritual needs which are just as important, if not more, than their physical needs. My special clinical interests include heart failure and mechanical circulatory support and pulmonary hypertension.
Why I Love My Work
I enjoy giving patients hope and serving them when they are most vulnerable. I like the variety of cardiology. It allows me the opportunity to take care of patients with cardiac disease – from those who are generally doing well to those who are critically ill in the intensive care unit.
Getting to Know Me
I grew up in rural Minnesota. Outside of work, I enjoy the outdoors. I have five children, so they keep me busy!
