My philosophy in healthcare is that no single treatment approach is applicable to all customers. I believe that therapy must be individualized in order to yield the best outcomes. I also believe in the power of education and hope that after every encounter his patients have a greater understanding of their disease and the rationale for therapy.
I enjoy all of the complexities of hematology and oncology, and I have specific interests in the treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies, hepatobiliary and pancreas cancers, as well as lymphoma and malignancies of the bone marrow.
During my fellowship training, I worked in the departments of chemistry and biochemistry at the University of Minnesota where my project focused on the development of a series of novel molecules for the treatment of cancer. The synthetic strategies of these compounds, in addition to their potent anti-cancer properties, have been published in peer-reviewed journals. Shortly after I completed my fellowship training, these compounds were patented.
In my spare time, I am an avid runner, swimmer, downhill skier, and have recently taken up weightlifting. I believe that exercise is an important component of health as well as in the treatment of disease. Last, but not least, I enjoy spending time with my wife and chasing after our twin children.
