What I Do
As a family nurse practitioner, I am dedicated to increasing access to quality care in rural areas. I believe in respecting each patient’s unique needs and values and building strong, trusting relationships within the community. My approach to care emphasizes preventive care, health education and evidence-based treatment to promote lifelong wellness.
My clinical interests include disease prevention, wellness and addiction medicine.
Why I Love My Work
Since I was in grade school, I wanted to be in health care to help people live longer, healthier lives. I worked as a registered nurse for 25 years, mostly in hospice and oncology. After working with end-of-life patients, I wanted to help people prevent disease when possible. So, I went back to school for a doctorate in nursing.
Getting to Know Me
My favorite time is when my five boys all come home for a visit. I also enjoy gardening, and I love flowers. I started riding a bike two years ago during a weight loss journey and love it! I recently finished the MS 150 and a 100-mile bike ride in Itasca County. Riding my bike is my time to listen to a great book or podcast.
