Headache Medicine and Neurology
Patient Rating
4.5/5 (Based on 92 Ratings)

Headache medicine quickly became my  passion as I time and time again witnessed the burden and impact people with headache disorders are confronted with. It's a tricky thing for people to understand how this condition which doesn't present with visible symptoms can be so disabling.

The headache patient is not the only one who is affected. It trickles down to their job and coworkers, their spouses, children and relationships suffer and — as a result — often the patients self-worth and confidence becomes questioned. It takes a toll on every aspect of one's life.

My goal is for my patients to better understand their own role in management of chronic and complex neurologic issues, and to arm them with the knowledge required to make the best medical and neurologic choices to improve their quality of life.

I have particular expertise in performing injection techniques such as head and face nerve blocks, trigger point injections, spheno-palatine ganglion blocks, as well as neurotoxin injections such as Botox for therapeutic purposes. I also have neuro-modulation experience with use of single pulse TMS (Trans-cranial Magnetic Stimulation) device and trans-cranial electrical stimulation.

I didn't feel really heard, and it would have been nice if they recommended downloading and using the app prior to the appointment.

Dr. Thronaum seemed almost telepathic: she understood the nuances of my situation so quickly and clearly, with just a few questions. She came up with multiple possibilities for treatment that sound really promising, and it's clear that she gets things done. I could not be more impressed or happy to have her as my neurologist!

Dr. Thronaum was AMAZING. She was so well prepared for the visit. She knew my medical history (down to dates/times). It was so impressive. And then the after visit notes? Shockingly detailed/accurate. This woman is a gem.
