Palliative Medicine

What I Do

Psychiatry is one of the most challenging aspects of patient care because there is no lab or imaging to explain how the patient is feeling. I enjoy helping my patients with their journey through mental illness to allow them to find inner peace.

My special clinical interests include all-encompassing mental illness, with the focus on the patient concerns and working with them to achieve a feeling of peace for themselves.

Why I Love My Work

My favorite part about my job is that every day is different and you never know what the day is going to bring. Mental illness is a challenge for everyone affected by it, and I am honored to be part of my patient’s journey through some of their most challenging times. I am blessed to have the opportunity to meet each patient wherever they are at and be trusted to help both of us understand their challenges to establish meaningful plans that meet their future goals or wishes.

I am thrilled to be part of CentraCare’s ever-growing medical team and led by such talented providers and visionary leaders.

Getting to Know Me

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, hiking, horseback riding and being out on the endless number of lakes. I have a diverse background in helping people. I was very involved in horseback riding, including equine therapy, and currently work with rescue puppies training as therapy canines for kids and adults. I also worked with the Boston Bruins hockey team to access and learn about the neurocognitive effects of concussions on the players.
