What I Do

My philosophy of care is to approach patients as a whole and have shared decision making about the best course of action for their injury. I do this based on the best available medical evidence and values that are important to them.

My special clinical interests include knee preservation (ACL injuries, multi-ligament knee injuries, patella femoral instability, cartilage procedures, osteotomies about the knee), shoulder preservation (recurrent shoulder instability, rotator cuff tears) and hip preservation (femoral-acetabular instability, abductor tendon tears).

Why I Love My Work

I enjoy seeing patients returning to their pre-injury level of activity after recovering from surgery. I chose my specialty in orthopedic sports medicine because I enjoy the patient population and helping all levels of athletes get back to the activities they love.

Getting to Know Me

Outside of work, I enjoy running, biking, hiking, snowboarding, skiing, hockey and painting.

Dr. Lovse clearly answered my questions about the extent of shoulder surgery I would need in the future. She explained how the decision was to be made and the process. I trust Dr. Lovse completely and have no doubt her care will lead to the best outcome.

The doctor spoke way too fast and rushed through my appointment. It was only 10 minutes long. It felt like I was a waste of time.

Lisa came in for maybe a total of 3 minutes. Checked both knees and said she reviewed my tests and can't help me and she was referring me to someone else and if he can't help, she would do surgery to clean up my knee and hope it doesn't come back. If that's the case, why wouldn't you review prior to my appointment for me not to waste my time?

I felt like Dr. Lovse talked to fast and came off not personable and maybe in a hurry

Dr. Lovse speaks very fast. It's noted on my chart that my incision is healing well and looks good. No one even looked at it. I get a very rushed feeling like I'm not important.

She spoke very fast, and ultimately didn't seem to know what was wrong with me but gave me another "referral" to another one of the doctors there for the following day to get an in injection.
