What I Do
I believe in providing family-centered care by listening intently and collaborating with each patient and their family to understand and address their unique needs. As a pediatric nurse practitioner, I provide individualized, evidence-based care and continually advocate for the health and wellbeing of children and their families.
Why I Love My Work
As a young child, I accompanied my mother to her chemotherapy appointments at CentraCare Plaza. At that time, I did not quite understand the severity of her illness, but I always enjoyed the kindness that the health care staff showed me and my mother. As I got older, I found a deeper appreciation for science and medicine and desired to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Thankfully, because of modern medicine and a caring, knowledgeable health care team, my mother is still my biggest cheerleader and my inspiration to give my best each and every day.
I found my niche in pediatrics because I loved the challenge of understanding conditions and illnesses in different life stages as well as the ability to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life. The strength and resiliency of children paired with their infectious energy and curiosity makes it easy to genuinely love my job.
Getting to Know Me
I grew up on a dairy farm in central Minnesota and have always wanted to live and practice here. Raising my family close to extended family members is important to me and I enjoy the sense of togetherness that bonds the community.
Outside of work, I keep busy raising two young daughters with my husband. As a family, we enjoy finding new parks and trails to explore and spending time outside. Personally, I love trying new foods, whether at a restaurant or experimenting with recipes at home, reading books for leisure, and spending time with friends and family.
