What I Do

I approach patient care with a multi-focal lens, looking at a patient's physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being to truly understand all of the elements impacting their current function. Each patient has a unique story and history to share, and it is imperative to understand all of these areas to ensure well-rounded care is delivered.

Why I Love My Work

What I enjoy most about my work is the lasting impact I see in my patient's life. When they share how their life has changed because they sought care with me, it fills my cup. Whether that's giving them that ability to get around their house again by obtaining a wheelchair for them, or relearning how to do basic skills like dressing and feeding themselves, my job directly impacts their ability to return to functional independence in their lives.

I've always known I wanted to help people in my career, and when completing my health care internship during my undergrad, I was intrigued by therapy and how they got to see patients over a continuum of time and see their abilities improve over time. Helping a person regain function and independence in the face of an unexpected illness or disability drove me to pursue my career.

Getting to Know Me

I was born and raised in Redwood Falls by a farming family. Rural health care has always been a passion area of mine, as I feel everyone deserves high quality care right in their backyard. I was driven to work for this organization due to their passion and focus on rural care and the opportunity to give back to the community I grew up in. In my spare time I enjoy trips to my family's lake cabin, trips to Door County, Wisconsin to visit my husband's family, yoga, and watching football and wrestling.
