What I Do
As a family nurse practitioner, I provide holistic, patient-centered care to support the physical, spiritual, social and emotional needs of patients. I do this through an approach called therapeutic communication centered around listening actively, seeking clarification, and offering hope and humor. Shared decision-making is also critical as it ensures the health care decisions are made together at each visit and are in the best interest of patients. Finally, I collaborate across my team, clinic and with other departments to ensure my approach to care is based on a well-rounded understanding of the problems or needs of my patients.
Why I Love My Work
I have a strong desire to help people and make an impact on their lives. I chose family medicine because of its broad scope of practice. I enjoy meeting people of all ages, wherever they are on their health care journeys, helping to optimize outcomes, encourage a high level of functionality and promote independence. I love building strong relationships with every patient I see, and what’s most important to me is that my patients feel safe, heard and cared for.
Getting to Know Me
Outside of work, I love to cook and spend time with family and friends.
