What I Do

My philosophy of care is primarily patient centered. I use up-to-date, evidence-based medical care to address patient concerns, focusing on what is most important to them. This requires genuine listening and attention to subtle details.

My clinical interests include general cardiology, specifically cardio obstetrics, cardio oncology, genetic cardiomyopathies, heart failure and multimodal cardiovascular imaging.

Why I Love My Work

Cardiology is a varied subspecialty, making it extremely interesting. There is instant gratification in treating patients with straightforward, fixable problems, and intellectual challenges in managing chronic conditions that require diligence, patience and multidisciplinary care. This variety creates exciting work experience. The patients are uniquely kind and a pleasure to care for, making the work humbling and a regular reminder of our shared humanity.

My motivation for going into medicine was simple. From a young age, I was deeply uncomfortable seeing others in pain and sincerely wanted to help. As a medical student and resident physician, I realized I enjoyed caring for cardiac patients the most. This preference was likely influenced by my father's passing from heart failure complications, which created a personal connection to patients with similar conditions.

Getting to Know Me

Outside of work, I love to cook and bake — although I don't like chocolate. I used to run a lot and am getting back into it. I also practiced martial arts and would love to take it up again soon. One interesting fact about me is that I learned to swim and ride a bike in my 20s after college.

The doctor was absolutely fantastic. She was very informative and let me discuss my concerns which she took very seriously. She explained every aspect of what my care would look like and what her concerns would be based on specific areas of my medical history. I left feeling heard, respected, and understood.

Talked to me directly. Looked at me not at the computer or her chart. She did not look at my wife as I was a patient. Noticeable and appreciated - she kept my attention.
