What I Do

I have worked for CentraCare for the past 32 years in a variety of roles and areas. My philosophy of care is to help and assist my patients to achieve their goals despite their limitations and disabilities. My special clinical interests include rehabilitation medicine with a focus on strokes, brain injury, spinal cord injury and amputation.

Why I Love My Work

I enjoy the team approach to incorporate everyone's expertise to improve our patient experience. I love the ability to actively see my patients improve in their function and ability. I like to know my patients as a person. Learning their story helps me to work with them on what is most important for their health and care. I also enjoy and appreciate the work environment, the people and the values of the CentraCare health system.

Getting to Know Me

Outside of work, I enjoy running, hiking and traveling. I also enjoy spending time with my husband, children and grandchildren.

    My daughter lives with some communication impairment but she was asked direct questions and graciously allowed sufficient time to reply. A family member was also encouraged to share her concern about an equipment need. This was a very productive appointment in which the home team shared and was heard, and the hospital team provided support, care, and guidance that reflected their best under and interest in my daughter's wellbeing

    Becky Kastanek is such a compassionate care giver. I so appreciate how she takes the time to listen to all my concerns and discusses possible treatment plans with me. She also offers you the option to contact her through My chart if anything comes up between appointments. I am so blessed to have her as my physician!
