What I Do
I view therapy as a collaborative process. Rather than trying to “fix” clients, I work with them to build insight, develop practical skills and reconnect with their own resilience and sense of direction. I believe people are doing the best they can with what they’ve been given, and that change is possible when they feel supported, understood and not judged.
My goal is to support clients in creating lasting change, improving their wellbeing and moving toward a life that feels more balanced, meaningful and authentic. As a therapist, I see my role as walking alongside my clients with curiosity, compassion and respect as they work toward healing and growth. I really try to meet people where they are and respect their pace. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, understood and free to be themselves without judgment. I value being genuine and present in the therapeutic relationship, because I believe trust and connection are the foundation for meaningful work.
My clinical interests focus on supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, complex trauma, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorders and challenges related to life transitions. I also have extensive experience working with individuals navigating substance use, including drug, alcohol and nicotine addiction.
I take a flexible, client centered approach, tailoring interventions to meet unique needs. This includes using:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy to explore the connections between thoughts, feelings and behaviors
- Dialectical behavioral therapy skills to support emotional regulation and coping with stress
- Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) to process trauma
- Motivational interviewing to help individuals explore uncertainty and strengthen their own motivation for change.
Why I Love My Work
Looking back, my desire to help others has always guided me. Although I began on a path toward nursing, my work naturally evolved into holding space, listening deeply and supporting people in living more authentic lives. A colleague once reflected that I was already embodying the values of social work — a realization that gave clarity to my journey. I am continually humbled by the trust others place in me as I walk alongside them in their wellness journeys.
Throughout my career, I have come to appreciate that each day brings something new. I am continually learning from my clients and colleagues. I find joy in celebrating the small victories, the a‑ha moments and the larger successes along the way.
