PGY1 Residency Program (Ambulatory Clinics)

CentraCare is proud to announce that our PGY1 Residency Program (Ambulatory Clinics) is now fully housed within our health care system.

We are thankful for the partnership with the University of Minnesota which has allowed us to host an ASHP accredited program for 10 years in St. Cloud and 25 years in Paynesville. Our growing group of ambulatory care pharmacists provides comprehensive and targeted medication therapy management (MTM) clinic-based services for a variety of disease states.

Note From the Director: Maintaining Our Mission

Members of the CentraCare PGY1 Residency Program (Ambulatory Clinics) believe that Our Best Begins with Me. Our organization supports tools and resources to build a culture that allows us to be at our best, both at work and at home. This includes immersing ourselves in a day devoted to learning how to be truly present in the moment, listen to understand, and work as a team.

Jennifer Hiemenz, PharmD

We strive to embody these culture concepts by connecting our ambulatory care pharmacists providing medication therapy management services in different physical clinic locations. Our virtual daily huddle joins all clinic-based pharmacists to review care goals and share updates for individual clinics. Once a year our whole team attends a day-long in-person Medication Therapy Management Summit for professional development and team building exercises.

In practice, residents work longitudinally with a team that includes precepting pharmacists, clinical staff, nurses, advanced practice providers, and doctors centered around our most important teammate — our patients. Join our team to make rural life healthier!
