candy buy back for heroes wednesday november 1st 5pm-8pm

Halloween may be the scariest holiday of the year, not because of the ghosts and goblins, but because of all the candy purchased and consumed. Each Halloween, Americans spend more than $2 billion on candy alone—that's a lot of goodies.

There is nothing wrong with allowing your child to enjoy some of the candy from their night out. However, parents should take the opportunity to talk about enjoying treats in moderation along with discussing good nutrition and dental hygiene. It’s also a chance to talk about the importance of giving and sharing with others.

One way your family can do this is through the Candy Buy Back for Heroes event on November 1st at St. Cloud Toyota. This event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. and includes:

  • A buy Back of Halloween Candy. Kids will be given $1 per pound of candy they return – up to five pounds of candy.
  • Kids can also register to win some cool prizes.

Your kids probably will have enough Halloween candy anyway, even after picking out all of their favorites from their stash. When donating their candy, they’ll know it’s going to help others. Either by going to troops currently overseas – who’ll appreciate the kind gesture of support from home – or it will donated to help various volunteer organizations.

Among the local organizations working to make this event possible include: St. Cloud Toyota, Sartell Pediatrics, Welch Dental Care, Andy’s Towing and BLEND.

Spread the word with others when trick-or-treating this year. The night after, come out and continue the Halloween fun for one more night— while making a difference to others.
