How are thread lifts done?
Before starting, you will receive a local anesthetic to numb the area and keep you comfortable. You will remain awake but feel no pain during the procedure. You may feel slight pressure as we inject, lift and secure the thread in place.
What can I expect from a thread lift?
After the procedure you may feel mild discomfort, which over-the-counter pain medication can relieve. Other side effects, such as swelling and bruising, often resolve after a few days. You should not feel the threads under your skin but may feel some tightness right after the procedure. This sensation often subsides as your skin heals.
The tiny entry points where we inserted the PDO thread will usually heal without noticeable scarring. The threads under your skin will eventually dissolve. As they do, your body will release collagen, naturally keeping your skin firm and supple.
You should be able to return to normal activities within a couple of days. We often advise against sleeping on your face or putting pressure on the affected area for a week.
Most people report results in just one session. Results can last one to three years but can vary from person to person. You may decide to have another thread lift in the future to maintain results or address new areas of concern.
