CentraCare Physician Campaign

You’re invited to join your Caduceus Society colleagues in the Physician Campaign

What is the Physician Campaign?

Each year, CentraCare Foundation asks physicians to make a contribution to help fund items and programs that enhance the care of our patients, residents and their families — beyond what is reimbursed by insurance. This support demonstrates to the community that we not only deliver superior care but share of our treasure to improve the experience for those we serve.

What is the Caduceus Society?

The Caduceus Society is a philanthropic guild of CentraCare Foundation open to practicing and retired medical staff. Gifts support its mission of improving the health of our community through support of education, programs and other health care initiatives.

How do I become a Caduceus Society member?

You can become an active member of the Caduceus Society by making a gift to the CentraCare Foundation Physician Campaign. Part of the Caduceus Society’s goal is to encourage physician giving at all levels to bring about goodwill, hope and healing in our community.

Active status is retained by making an annual gift to the Physician Campaign, actively paying on a pledge or donating to a Foundation event. Legacy standing is achieved when a Caduceus Society member has cumulatively given $10,000 or more.

What will my gift support?

Your gift to the Physician Campaign will support the fund of your choice. You can choose from one of our fundraising priorities, choose another Foundation fund or contact CentraCare Foundation to discuss how to create fund that supports your passion for giving.

What’s the difference between an annual pledge and a recurring gift?

With the annual pledge option, you can renew your pledge and gift amount each year.

If you prefer, you can choose the recurring gift option where you select the amount you want deducted through payroll deduction, credit card or your checking account as often as you specify (bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.).

What if I need to make a change to my foundation pledge and payroll deduction?

Your recurring gift may be changed at any time. If you wish to increase, decrease or stop your gift, email Gwen Muehring.

Are gifts to the campaign tax deductible?

Yes. As a non-profit organization, CentraCare Foundation complies with all IRS requirements for tax exempt 501(c) (3) classification. The tax and financial consequences of gifts to the program depend upon your personal circumstances. We recommend that you talk with your tax advisor.

What percentage of my donation to the Physician Campaign benefits the cause vs. administrative overhead?

Depending on the gift, 90 percent to 98.5 percent of the gift is spent directly on the program or service designated by the donor. CentraCare Foundation reserves 1.5-10 percent to help offset administrative costs and the ongoing distribution of funds to honor donor intent.
