This area offers a wide variety of businesses, an abundance of recreational and leisure activities, and excellent school systems. Long Prairie has built a diverse agriculture and manufacturing base around one of the most productive and loyal workforces in the state.

Long Prairie serves as the major retail center for most of Todd County. A well balanced variety of stores has helped the retailers of the community withstand the difficulties of other rural areas.
