A Range of Specialized Pediatric Services Are Available in Central Minnesota
There are times when your child needs special expertise. You’re already stressed -- and having to drive to the Twin Cities just adds to the burden. But there are many pediatric specialty services available right here in Central Minnesota.
CentraCare Partners with Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota to Ensure:
- Consistency of treatment guidelines, ensuring your child receives the same high quality care in St. Cloud that’s available in the Twin Cities
- Weekly visits from specialists
- Seamless transition to Children’s should your child need further care
- Round-the-clock access to Children’s specialists
Some of the Specialized Pediatric Services Provided at CentraCare Include:
- Administration of select chemotherapy and blood products
- Monitoring of side effects and complications from chemotherapy
- Administration of antibiotic and fluid infusions
- Medical evaluations and consultations
- Lab and imaging services
- Management and treatment of anemias, clotting disorders, hemophilia, idiopathic thrombocytopenia and sickle cell disease
- Monitoring of port and central line access
Some of these services are provided in the Pediatric Short Stay & Infusion Unit, which provides up to eight hours of care for children who may need medical observation, but not a hospital stay.
