Atrial Fibrillation (Arrhythmia) Clinic

You don’t have to face atrial fibrillation (AFib or AF) alone. With the right care, right here in Minnesota, you can take manage your health and reduce the serious risks of AFib like stroke and heart failure. The AFib Clinic at CentraCare Heart & Vascular can help you understand your condition and create a plan of care — even if you have other rhythm concerns like atrial flutter.

What Is AFib?

AFib is an irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia). It happens when the top chambers of your heart, called atria, beat out of sync with the lower heart chambers, called the ventricles. This can make your heartbeat fast and irregular.

Symptoms of AFib

  • Palpitations
  • Lightheadedness
  • Fatigue
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest discomfort

Some people may not experience any symptoms at all and only discover AFib during a routine medical exam.
