Structural Heart & Valve Clinic
Your heart has four rooms (chambers) with walls and doors (valves). A structural heart and valve specialist is like a contractor who repairs them to keep your heart working smoothly. CentraCare can fix holes in your heart tissue and treat stiff or leaky valves, sometimes without surgery. So, you start enjoying better health as soon as possible.
Innovative Care for Better Health
Meet one of our interventional cardiologists — a doctor who focuses on procedures that are less invasive than heart surgery. You’ll hear about some of the advanced technology that may help you at CentraCare Heart & Vascular Center in St. Cloud.

Services

Aortic Valve Replacement
A doctor can replace your stiff aortic valve with a mechanical valve or one made of natural tissue. Treatment lets blood flow freely through the valve, easing chest pain.
Atrial Septal Defect Closure
An atrial septal defect is a hole in a heart wall. It lets too much blood flow to your lungs. A doctor can plug the hole to prevent damage to your lungs’ blood vessels.
Left Atrial Appendage Closure (Watchman)
If you have atrial fibrillation, the Watchman device may reduce your stroke risk. This device seals off part of your heart to prevent a blood clot from traveling to your brain.
Mitral Valve Repair or Replacement for Regurgitation
A doctor can treat a leaky mitral valve with either a surgical or nonsurgical approach. These procedures treat a condition called mitral regurgitation.
Mitral Valve Repair or Replacement for Stenosis
If you have a stiff mitral valve, you might have the option of surgery or a minimally invasive treatment. Afterwards, you may feel more energetic and breathe more easily.
Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) Closure
PFO closure seals off a hole in the heart. This treatment prevents a blood clot from leaving your heart, traveling to a brain artery and causing a stroke.
Septal Alcohol Ablation
If part of your heart muscle is too thick, a doctor may shrink it with an alcohol injection. Blood flow improves, relieving your symptoms of cardiomyopathy.
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
TAVR replaces a stiff aortic valve without open-heart surgery. The new valve lets blood flow freely through your heart, reducing chest pain and fatigue.
Tricuspid Valve Repair
Tricuspid valve repair fixes the valve on the right side of your heart. Treatment ensures your heart pumps blood smoothly without leaks or blockages.
