Your Circulatory System
Your vascular system consists of the blood vessels outside your heart. Coronary arteries carry blood away from the heart, and veins bring blood back to the heart. If your blood flow becomes abnormal, it can cause heart or other health problems.
Signs & Symptoms of Vascular Disease
Ask your primary care doctor to refer you to CentraCare for circulatory care and treatment if you experience:
- Cooler temperature in one arm or leg
- Fatigue when walking or climbing
- Heaviness or pain in the arms or legs during activity
- Pain in the fingers, hand, foot or leg when resting
- Pale or blue skin on the arms or legs
- Poor nail or hair growth
- Sores or wounds that heal slowly
Screening & Diagnosis
Get accurate screening and diagnosis of vascular conditions with our advanced technology, including:
- Computed tomography scans (CT)
- Endovascular operating rooms
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Vascular ultrasound
The technology saved me but the people made the difference.

Vascular Procedures & Surgeries
Rely on your vascular team to take a minimally invasive approach when possible. CentraCare offers a wide range of vascular procedures and surgeries that can reduce hospital stays, recovery time and blood loss. The program recently introduced transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR), a nonsurgical approach to opening a blockage in the carotid artery. It also was the first in Minnesota to complete a percutaneous transmural arterial bypass (PTAB) with the DETOUR System to increase blood flow in the lower legs.
