What to Expect at Your Specialty Visit
A team of developmental specialists will meet with you and your child.
- An occupational or physical therapist will assess your child’s speech and language skills, fine and gross motor skills, social and emotional development and activities of daily living.
- A registered dietitian will assess nutrition, feeding and growth.
- A medical provider will assess further development risk and discuss with you your child’s progress, as well as treatment options if needed.
Visits typically take place at 6 months, 12 months and 24 months of age. These clinic visits do not replace routine checkups with your child’s primary care provider.
