St. Benedict’s Senior Community hosts Oct. 4 Legislative Candidate Forum on long-term care

Published in Media Releases

A Legislative Candidate Forum on long-term care will be Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, 1810 Minnesota Boulevard. The event is free and open to the public.

The Legislative Candidate Forum provides a unique opportunity to speak directly with legislative candidates about issues that matter most to aging Minnesotans and those that provide them with care. House and Senate candidates in Districts 13 and 14 have been invited to participate in the forum.

The event will feature brief opening statements from each candidate and a moderated discussion. Audience participants will have the opportunity to meet the candidates before and after the forum, and may submit questions during the forum.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to host this candidate forum on such an important topic to area voters,” said Christine Bakke, Care Center Administrator, St. Benedict’s Senior Community. “Our population in St. Cloud and the surrounding area is aging, and we are already seeing the impact that has on services that support older adults. It’s going to take a collaborative effort among families, long-term care providers, and local and state elected officials to ensure that our communities provide housing, a stable workforce and access to quality care to help our aging population remain close to their families and connected to our communities.”
