CentraCare Health – Monticello partners to expand same day surgery care

Published in Media Releases

To better meet the community’s growing need for cost-effective outpatient surgery care, CentraCare Health – Monticello; Stellis Health, PA (formerly Buffalo Clinic, PA); and North Memorial Health Care are partnering to expand same day surgery options in Monticello.

A new same day surgery center will open early next year on the campus of CentraCare Health – Monticello and will benefit patients by offering low cost, high-quality care for those whose surgical treatment does not require a hospital stay.  The same day surgery center will continue to provide surgical specialties including anesthesiology, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedic, ear/nose/throat, podiatry and urology that are available in the hospital today.

CentraCare Health – Monticello’s existing surgical space will be converted into the dedicated same day surgery center featuring three operating rooms, two procedure rooms, and private pre-operative and post-operative patient rooms.  New operating rooms will be constructed in the hospital to provide care for patients requiring more complex inpatient surgical procedures.

“CentraCare is committed to delivering high-quality health care at a reasonable cost,” said Mary Ellen Wells, Administrator at CentraCare Health – Monticello.  “We are proud to partner with Stellis Health and North Memorial on a dedicated same day surgery center that will improve our patients’ access to care, increase efficiency of care and reduce the cost of care.  This is truly a win for our patients and our community.”
