Dear Friends and Neighbors,

CentraCare care givers have been working around the clock for more than 20 months to care for you, your families and friends during COVID. We are committed to caring for every Minnesotan who needs us, and nothing will prevent us from doing so – even during these never-seen-before times.

The challenge of providing this level of care is that our hospital beds are often full. ERs in all of our hospitals are packed. And our clinical teams are exhausted. Early in the pandemic, our community stepped up in amazing ways to help us. We ask that you again join us in fighting this pandemic together.

How can you help?

  • Please get your COVID vaccines and booster shots. They are proven safe and effective in reducing COVID illness, keeping people out of the hospital, and preventing death.
  • If your situation is not an emergency, please use other care options, including:

CentraCare Health nurses receive March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Awards

CentraCare Health had 17 nurses who were selected as finalists for the 2017 March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Awards with more than 400 nurses nominated from across the state.

Finalists were:

Out of the distinguished finalists, CentraCare had four category winners:

  • Leadership category — Diane Pelant, St. Cloud Hospital
  • Oncology category — Judy Jensen, St. Cloud Hospital
  • Rural Health category — Jenn Tschida, CentraCare Health – Melrose
  • General Care category — Jenna Czech, St. Cloud Hospital

In addition to this, Melissa Fradette, Intensive Care Unit, was honored with the Distinguished Nurse of the Year Award! This is the second year in a row CentraCare has had a nurse win this prestigious award! Awards were presented at the 2017 Nurse of the Year Awards Ceremony on Oct. 6.

Today, one in every 10 U.S. infants is born premature, including more than 6,000 infants in the state of Minnesota each year. The March of Dimes is committed to funding research to find the answers to problems that continue to threaten the lives and health of babies. Funds raised by Nurse of the Year Awards help support prenatal wellness programs, research grants, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) family support programs and advocacy efforts for moms and babies.
