Clearwater Travel Plaza Raises More Than $200,000 For Community Health

Published in Media Releases Author: CentraCare

Since 2009, the Clearwater Travel Plaza in Clearwater has raised over $200,000 for the Coborn Cancer Center in St. Cloud. These gifts have been raised as a result of hosting numerous fundraising events including an annual golf tournament, an annual cancer walk and a past outdoor Zumba class event.

According to Chief Operating Officer Wendy Johnson, who has been with the company for 33 years, “The Coborn Cancer Center is just down the road from us, and it serves our local community; some of our employees and their families have received care there, so that makes it the obvious choice. We want to make sure the fundraised dollars go to where we want them, so that we, and our community, can get the health care they need.”

And they are not only focused on supporting their employees, but also raising dollars and providing a great experience for all who participate in any of their fundraising events because, according to Wendy, “It’s the right thing to do.”
