Reminder: Visitor Restrictions Still in Place at CentraCare Facilities

Published in Media Releases Author: CentraCare

CentraCare is committed to protecting the health and safety of our patients, staff and visitors. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to have visitor restrictions at our hospitals and clinics.

“We understand a majority of the community is back to living as if the pandemic is over. However, in a health care setting, where we need to provide the utmost safety to our patients and staff, our visitor restrictions and masking requirement must continue,” said George Morris, MD, Vice President, Performance Excellence. “While the most recent COVID-19 variants might be less severe, they are highly contagious. We need to protect individuals who are immunocompromised and more susceptible to the virus. We need to protect our staff so that we have the professionals who can care for our community — whether it is COVID-19 or any other medical need.”

In hospital settings, visiting hours are from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. At those facilities, two healthy visitors per patient are allowed. Visitors must be at least 5 years old, and a responsible adult needs to accompany all visitors under age 18.

For outpatient settings (clinics and specialty centers), normal business hours are when visitors are allowed. Two healthy adult visitors per adult patient and two healthy visitors for minor patients are allowed within the health care facility.

There are some exceptions and separate guidance for certain patient groups. If you or a loved one is an inpatient in one of CentraCare's facilities, please talk to your care team about special circumstances.

These guidelines do not pertain to our long-term care facilities because of different regulations for vulnerable populations.

CentraCare still requires all patients and visitors (ages 2 and older) to wear a medical-grade face mask at all facilities across the health system, which are made available at various entrances.

We appreciate the support and understanding from the community as we continue our efforts to keep patients and staff safe.
