    Biography

    What I Do
I see care with occupational therapy as a collaborative approach. I communicate with patients and their families along with their other providers like we are a team and that we all have valuable information to offer about the patients' roles, context, and environment. Through working together, we can identify strengths and areas to improve on to help achieve independence to be more successful with meaningful daily activities. I try to make interventions fun while working on the goals selected to promote growth and change to ultimately improve overall well-being and participation in the things that matter most to children like playing, school, and being with friends and family.

My special clinical interests include pediatrics, autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, upper extremity casting for forced use programming, reflex integration, feeding therapy, and vision therapy among others. I am certified in sequential oral sensory, approach to feeding and physical agent modalities.

    Why I Love My Work
I enjoy working with children-teenagers and their families each day. I love making treatment sessions fun, goofy, and enjoyable to get patient’s motivated and engaged in exercises, feeding, visual-motor tasks, or whatever they may be working on. I really enjoy working with other disciplines as well and learning from my co-workers and families each day on how I can provide the best care.

    Getting to Know Me
Outside of work, I enjoy being active with exercising and hiking, reading, playing board/card games, enjoying Minnesota summers on the lake, and spending time with my husband, Millie my dog and family and friends.
