    Biography

    "As a native of Stillwater, it is great to be back in Minnesota, serving and caring for the people of the greater St. Cloud area. I am particularly grateful to be part of CentraCare, an organization that genuinely believes in putting the patient first, allowing me to practice in a manner truly consistent with the concept of patient-centered care.     Most recently Dr. Danielson served as a cardiothoracic surgeon with Sacramento Cardiovascular Surgeons in Sacramento, Calif., and as the director of the Regenerative Medicine and Biosurgery Program at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Calif. He provided trauma and critical care during Operation Iraqi Freedom and oversaw clinical services at Craig Joint Theater Hospital, Balad Air Base, Afghanistan, during Operation Enduring Freedom.

    Dr. Danielson is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and earned his medical degree at the University of Minnesota. He completed a General Surgery residency and Surgical Critical Care fellowship at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minn., and a Cardiothoracic Surgery residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He is originally from Stillwater, MN.

    Dr. Danielson provides surgical treatment for diseases of the heart, lungs and mediastinum. He has special interest in coronary artery bypass grafting and valve repair and replacement, as well as aortic and atrial fibrillation surgery. He is launching a temporary and permanent ventricular assist device (VAD) mechanical circulatory support program for the treatment of acute and chronic heart failure at St. Cloud Hospital.
