    What I Do

My philosophy of care is to work with my patients to find the right strategies to reach their health goals. I develop my knowledge and skills as much as possible in service of that. Growing up, I would work on farms, and later I was a construction worker. I think because of those experiences, I developed a mindset of enjoying being part of a team to complete defined tasks. The operating room is a great place for that. Everybody knows everyone else’s job, and we all support one another to be as safe, as good and as efficient as possible. My clinical interests include general surgery, robotic-assisted surgery, vascular access surgery and surgery for underserved populations.

    Why I Love My Work

I do not like seeing people go through difficult times; however, it is a great privilege for me that I can help people who go through those times. I enjoy helping them and deciding on how to get to a better place, whether that is through surgery or just understanding. I have worked hard for a long period of time to be in a position where I can help my patients, and that remains to me a privilege that I will not take for granted.

    Getting to Know Me

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, reading, woodworking (mostly hand tools), running and skiing.
