    What I Do
My philosophy of care is that my role as a psychiatric provider is to work alongside individuals and families to offer medication and non-medication options to improve their quality of life. While I have an education, experience and expertise related to child/adolescent psychiatry, youth and their family members and caregivers have expertise in their experience. I view my role as being part of a team, partnering with youth and their caregivers, to determine the best strategies for improving their functioning. I believe having a choice is essential and I strive to offer youth and their family's evidence-based treatment options that they can choose from based on their preference and comfort that are within the standards of best practices.

My special clinical interests include working with younger children. I have a strong clinical background working with youth who have experienced significant trauma. I also have a minor in Integrated Health and Healing practices and experience as a yoga teacher, so I use this knowledge to inform care.

    Why I Love My Work
I most enjoy partnering with youth to understand their priorities, goals, desires, etc. and supporting them in their achievement of these. Witnessing successes, regardless of their size or significance, is really rewarding. I also love working with younger children and I enjoy working with people and helping them to make things better and learn and support others in their learning.

    Getting to Know Me
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family on outdoor activities. I enjoy nature walks, gardening and playing with our kids and dog. I like to knit and crochet despite lacking the skill to successfully create much through these hobbies. I also really enjoy traveling to new places and experiencing local cultures and cuisine.
