Areas Of Interest The Department of Neurology specializes in disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and nerves providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of a variety of neurological problems. These include:
- Epilepsy
- Multiple sclerosis
- Parkinson's disease
- Peripheral neuropathies
- Stroke
- Headache
The physicians and nurses coordinate and manage care of adult patients in conjunction with primary physicians and other specialists. The department maintains an active electrophysiology laboratory that performs:
- Electroencephalography (EEG)
- Electromyography (EMG)
- Nerve conduction studies (NCS)
These studies investigate a wide variety of pathologic processes involving the brain, peripheral nerves and muscles. Botulinum toxin (Botox) services are also provided for a variety of conditions including dystonia, torticollis, and hemifacial spasm.
