    What I Do
I have a quote on my desk that reads: “Be like a tree. Stay grounded. Connect with your roots. Turn over a new leaf. Bend before you break. Enjoy your unique natural beauty. Keep growing.” - Joanne Raptis.

I feel like this emulates my own philosophy of care, to be willing to “go with the flow” and the changes that come with working in healthcare. I have a background in nutrition and exercise physiology and am now a nurse working in Diabetes Education. I have found my niche in which I can utilize all my previous education to improve a patient’s health.

My clinical interests include working with patients for chronic disease management, particularly management of diabetes. I also have a strong interest in working with patients with cardiovascular disease with my prior experience working on the cardiac intensive care unit and cardiac rehabilitation.

    Why I Love My Work
Working with patients to better manage their diabetes and seeing their lab work and overall quality of life improve is something I enjoy! Our team of registered nurses and registered dietitians are AMAZING! I am originally from Central Minnesota, and I enjoy giving back to my community with working at CentraCare.

    Getting to Know Me
Outside of work, I enjoy being outdoors and camping with my husband and son. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends as much as I can. My hobbies include going outside to snowshoe in the winter, paddleboard in the summer and making various crafts when I have the chance!
