Dear Friends and Neighbors,

CentraCare care givers have been working around the clock for more than 20 months to care for you, your families and friends during COVID. We are committed to caring for every Minnesotan who needs us, and nothing will prevent us from doing so – even during these never-seen-before times.

The challenge of providing this level of care is that our hospital beds are often full. ERs in all of our hospitals are packed. And our clinical teams are exhausted. Early in the pandemic, our community stepped up in amazing ways to help us. We ask that you again join us in fighting this pandemic together.

How can you help?

  • Please get your COVID vaccines and booster shots. They are proven safe and effective in reducing COVID illness, keeping people out of the hospital, and preventing death.

Chex Cherry Almond Crunch

  • 4-1/2 cups Honey Nut Chex cereal
  • 4-1/2 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 2 cups whole almonds
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup margarine spread
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cup dried cherries


  1. In a large microwavable bowl, mix cereal and almonds.
  2. In a 2-cup microwavable measuring cup, microwave brown sugar, margarine spread, and honey uncovered on High about 1-1/2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute, until mixture comes to a boil. Stir margarine mixture.
  3. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.
  4. Microwave uncovered on High 4 minutes, stirring every minute.
  5. Stir in cherries.
  6. Microwave an additional 3 minutes, stirring every minute.
  7. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool.
  8. Store in airtight container.

Yield: Makes 28 servings (1 serving = 1/2 cup)
