COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update Learn More

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

CentraCare care givers have been working around the clock for more than 20 months to care for you, your families and friends during COVID. We are committed to caring for every Minnesotan who needs us, and nothing will prevent us from doing so – even during these never-seen-before times.

The challenge of providing this level of care is that our hospital beds are often full. ERs in all of our hospitals are packed. And our clinical teams are exhausted. Early in the pandemic, our community stepped up in amazing ways to help us. We ask that you again join us in fighting this pandemic together.

How can you help?

  • Please get your COVID vaccines and booster shots. They are proven safe and effective in reducing COVID illness, keeping people out of the hospital, and preventing death.
  • If your situation is not an emergency, please use other care options, including:

Possible Substitutes

1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup Splenda Blend (Brown or White)
  • 1 cup Splenda
1 whole egg
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 Tbsp. ground flaxseed + 3 Tbsp. water
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
1 cup of butter or shortening or lard
  • 1 cup tub spread
  • 3/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 cup fruit puree like applesauce or pumpkin
1 tablespoon of butter or oil
  • 3 tablespoons ground flaxseed (1:3 ratio)
1 cup of whole milk
  • 1 cup of skim milk
1 cup light cream (20%)
  • 3 tablespoons Canola oil and skim milk to equal 1 cup
  • 1 cup evaporated skim milk
  • 1 cup fat-free half & half
1 cup heavy cream (35%)
  • 2/3 cup skim milk and 1/3 cup canola oil
1 cup of sour cream (20 %)
  • 1 cup plain, fat-free yogurt
  • Light or fat-free Sour cream
1 ounce (1 square) baking chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons powdered cocoa + 1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon of bacon fat
  • 1 tablespoon Canola oil + crushed Bacon Bits (flavor)
