Men, it’s time to get serious about your weight

Published in Weight Management, For the Health of It

Do men take better care of their cars, lawns, and other hobbies rather than themselves?

Almost 75% of men in the U.S. carry extra weight. Extra weight, a waist circumference greater than 37.5 inches, and a body mass index greater than 25, can put you at increased risk for many diseases.

Health risks for men with extra weight include increased pain from arthritis (back, hip and knee pain), metabolic concerns (heart attack, stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure, erectile dysfunction, and fatty liver), and many forms of cancer.

The good news is that a weight reduction of 10% can improve weight-related health issues.

The bad news is that less than 10% of adults accomplish this weight reduction using historical treatment methods (diet centers, over-the-counter products).

The field of Obesity Medicine has learned a lot of new things over the past ten years to make weight loss and improved health a reality for men (and women) who may be struggling to tackle weight loss on their own.

Our team can partner with you on your weight loss journey. We provide Weight Management services in Willmar, St. Cloud and Monticello.
