Your Safety First: What We Are Doing to Keep You Safe

At CentraCare, your health means everything. That’s why we’re taking important steps to ensure your safety at all our facilities.

Ahead of your visit, please review our Visitor Policy.

Here are ways we’re working every day to keep you healthy and safe:

Universal masking

Masks are a simple, yet effective way to prevent the spread of viruses so all staff, patients and visitors are required to wear masks inside our facilities.

Due to the current surge of COVID-19 cases in our communities, and the need to strengthen protection against the highly contagious Omicron variant, CentraCare requires all patients and visitors (ages 2 and older) to wear a medical-grade face mask at all facilities in our health system. Patients and visitors with non-medical grade masks, including cloth masks, gaiters or bandanas, will be offered a medical-grade mask upon arrival.

Social distancing

Staying at least six feet apart can help minimize the spread of viruses, so we have adapted our lobbies and waiting rooms to make it easier for people to keep their distance from others.

Entrance health screening

All patients, visitors and staff are screened when entering our facilities, which includes answering a few questions and a temperature scan. This quick screening can help ensure that every person entering our facilities is healthy.

Cleaning rooms and high-touch surfaces

Lobbies and check-in areas are sanitized frequently throughout the day to ensure all high-touch surfaces are clean. In addition, patient rooms and equipment are cleaned after every patient, which has always been standard practice. This provides peace of mind knowing that cleanliness is a top priority throughout our facilities.

Increased frequency of hand hygiene

Hand washing is an easy way to prevent the spread of illness and hand hygiene has always been mandatory for our care teams. We also have hand sanitizer stations throughout our facilities to make it easy for patients and visitors to perform hand hygiene.

Virtual video visits

Some patients now have the option to meet with their provider using a computer, tablet or phone for certain types of visits. These secure online visits are a convenient way to get the care you need from the comforts of home. If you have a CentraCare provider, please contact that provider to determine if virtual video visits are appropriate for your situation. If you are new to CentraCare, call one of our nurse lines and they will be able to direct you to the most appropriate visit type.
