Call 911
Seek emergency medical attention if you or someone else experiences an injury that causes severe pain or bleeding. Quick action could save a life.
Fracture Treatment
If you have a broken bone, you may need only a cast or brace to hold the bone in place while it heals. But some fractures need surgical screws or plates to keep them in position during recovery.
Rest assured; most bones heal with treatment. But an orthopedic surgeon can help if you experience:
- Nonunion – Bone that doesn’t heal after several months
- Malunion – Bone that heals in an unusual position and may look bent
