Child Advocacy Center

Partnering to help victims of child abuse

CAC factsCentraCare Health is partnering with law enforcement, child protection, county attorneys, advocates, mental health and medical professionals to ensure children receive the proper care and support during and after a child abuse investigation.

What’s unique about this? All assessment and support for the child now happens at ONE location.

In the past, children were shuffled from agency to agency and had to relive the trauma as they retold their story of abuse. Now, these professionals come together at the Central Minnesota Child Advocacy Center to listen as the child tells his or her story to trusted professionals.

In the first two years, more than 400 physically, sexually or emotionally abused children (66 under age 3) were served at the center at no cost to the family.

Thanks to the generosity of the community and our Employee Giving Campaign, CentraCare Health Foundation has provided funding for the Child Advocacy Center since it opened in September 2016. Additional community support is needed.
