Childhood Mental Well-being

Resources for Fostering Positive Mental Health in Children

Click on the age of your child to explore information and resources based on developmental age.

Welcome! We’re glad you are here. Parenting is full of joy and wonder, but it also can be difficult. Each age brings new challenges. It can feel like we just get the hang of it and then suddenly it’s like we have a new kid we are trying to figure out the parenting manual for. Sometimes our own childhood experiences and mental health needs keep us from being the parent we want to be. To help, we’ve selected resources with child development experts based on your child’s age to support you in your parenting journey.

Our goal is to provide brain health and parenting information to support the development of mental well-being in babies, children, teens and young adults. Mental health is just as important as physical health. These webpages also are a resource for parents and caretakers who have concerns about a child’s emotional and mental health development. Healthy brains and relationships, as well as social and emotional development, are the building blocks for a healthy quality of life for your child, now and as they grow into adulthood.
