CentraCare—St. Cloud Hospital
Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellowship
CentraCare — St. Cloud Hospital is pleased to invite interested candidates to apply for a 12-month fellowship position in Behavioral Health, with opportunities in the following areas of specialty, depending on the applicant’s interests, including: 1) Child Clinical Psychology (therapy and assessment), and 2) Adult Clinical Psychology (therapy and/or assessment). These fellowships are designed to complement your background and to provide more focused and in-depth training in your chosen substantive specialty practice area.
Program Description
CentraCare — St. Cloud Hospital provides family-centered care for patients of all ages. As the largest behavioral health service provider in the geographical area, our clinic receives a variety of referrals for patients of all ages with a wide range of presenting difficulties. As part of a larger health organization, behavioral health providers also have the opportunity to work closely with medical specialists including pediatricians, family practice providers, psychiatrists, and other health providers (e.g., pediatric occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists). The fellowship program is designed to provide clinical experiences necessary to support independent practice in clinical and/or health psychology.
Clinical Training Opportunities
We aim to tailor the training experience to meet the individual training needs and interests of the fellow. Flexible rotation selection offers opportunities for breadth of experiences, as well as specialization with populations of interests.
Adult Clinical Fellowship
In our Adult Clinical Team we have opportunities to specialize in integrated behavioral health, eating disorder evaluations and treatment, trauma-focused treatment, as well as outpatient therapy for diverse patient populations and comprehensive psychological assessments in our outpatient clinic, partial hospitalization program, and inpatient mental health unit.
For example, as part of our Integrated Behavioral Health Clinical Team, the fellow would have an opportunity to specialize in Primary and/or Specialty Care Behavioral Health. Utilizing a health psychology approach, the fellow would work within a multidisciplinary clinic care team to support the diverse concerns of patients. This may include behavior changes to support a medical diagnosis and/or general behavioral health concerns.
Child and Adolescent Clinical Fellowship
In our Child and Adolescent Clinical team, we have specialized clinical training in therapy and assessment for diverse patient concerns, including autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related diagnoses, eating disorders, adjustment to chronic illness and integrated behavioral health. There are opportunities to do comprehensive assessments in our outpatient clinic, partial hospitalization program, and in-patient mental health unit, as well as participation in our interdisciplinary assessment clinics (ASD and FASD).
For example, specialization in Autism Spectrum Disorder could include participation in an interdisciplinary ASD assessment clinic (including providers in psychology, psychiatry, occupational and speech therapy), completing psychology only assessment for ASD, and providing individual, family, or group therapy services for individuals with ASD (broad range of ages and levels of functioning).
Additional Training Opportunities
Fellows will have the opportunity to work with several supervisors to obtain hours necessary for licensure, and will participate in individual supervision, group consultation, including opportunities for specialty consultation groups such as: trauma-focused therapy, Internal Family Systems, integrated behavioral health, eating disorders, and sexual and gender medicine.
Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in scheduled didactics and educational opportunities provided through the hospital/clinic. There is an expectation for preparation of one educational presentation to the health care community during the year.
