Some features of the Birth Center include:

  • OB hospitalists on the unit 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist with deliveries
  • On-site nurse midwives as part of the care team — dependent on availability and level of care required
  • A triage unit with six private rooms where your stage of labor can be rapidly assessed
  • Six antepartum suites for women having pregnancy problems, such as premature labor or high blood pressure
  • 12 labor/delivery/recovery suites with large private bathrooms with air-jetted tubs
  • Two dedicated surgical suites for Caesarean births
  • The opportunity to have your baby stay in your room with you after delivery
  • 26 postpartum suites with a spacious family area, including comfortable seating and a convertible sofa for an overnight guest
  • Close proximity to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
