Services to care for Mind, Body, and Spirit include:

Enhancement Program

Cancer therapies can have many effects on cancer patients with many experiencing a devastating hair loss. Fortunately, through the support of the CentraCare Health Foundation, we are able to provide individuals with the unique support they need.

The Enhancement Program provides cancer patients with a one-on-one consultation with a licensed cosmetologist. In the consultation, a patient can have an individualized fitting of a wig, sleeping hat, Cathy Cap, turban and an outdoor hat. Each patient can choose from over 500 wigs which can be cut and styled. The cosmetologist teaches how to care for and maintain the wig. This program is offered at no cost to patients.

If you are receiving care at Coborn Cancer Center and interested in an Enhancement Program consultation, please call 320-229-4900 to schedule an appointment.

Integrative Therapies

As part of your care with Coborn Cancer Center, you may be offered an integrative health consultation with one of our qualified integrative health practitioners. After meeting with your practitioner, an individualized integrative health plan may be developed to promote a holistic healing process.

Integrative therapies are therapeutic treatments that support the body’s natural ability to heal and promote balance in body, mind, and spirit. They are safe for all ages and work in harmony with standard medical care.

Integrative therapies are used to ease common side-effects of cancer treatment, such as:

  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Headaches
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Dry mouth
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Fatigue
  • Difficulty coping
  • Peripheral neuropathy

Integrative therapies that may be recommended by your practitioner include:

  • Aromatherapy: the use of plant essential oils for therapeutic purposes
  • Acupuncture: the placement of very fine needles into specific areas of the body to induce a healing response
  • Acupressure: the application of pressure to specific areas of the body using hands or fingers to induce a healing response
  • Healing Touch: the use of light, gentle touch on or above the body to balance the body’s energetic system

Our goal at Coborn Healing Center is to provide an environment that empowers strength and resiliency for the cancer survivor

Please contact your nurse or physician to request an integrative health consultation at 320-229-4900.
